Case Studies

The Travel Camden project is coming to an end and since it began in March, many residents have found smarter ways of getting where they want to be. We have received some great feedback about the project, and travelling around Camden in general, which we have listed below.

Bike Party success – Our recent Bike Party at William Ellis school has been a great success which was clearly enjoyed by the majority of visitors. "I would love to see a similar project run twice a year." said Antony Burt from Camden. He added: "I don't have a car and rely totally on travel by bike all over London. Many thanks for a great event, and I look forward to similar sensible projects aimed at getting people on bikes."

Put back up lights to good use – One resident in Camden was very happy to have received a set of back up lights from our travel advisors and asked for more for the children in the household. He commented: "The maps and other information has been very useful as are the snap bands. It's a great initiative and it felt really good to be given some encouragement to stay green on the roads."

Cycling to work – Tim Smith from Camden was very pleased with the advice he received from his Travel Advisor. He wrote to us saying: "I have been considering moving from tube to cycle for my daily commute to work from Tufnell Park to Kensington for some time. Now that I have the maps and information pack that you have provided this is a big step to becoming a reality! I was also very pleased to receive the other information and extras such as the cycle lights. I now have no excuse in terms of cycling to work."

Reliable Buses – As well as suggestions of which bus services could be improved, we also received some very positive feedback from residents in Camden. In particular about bus 24 and how frequently it turns up. Mr Maradas, a participant in our community photography project, commented, "It's lovely. I do like the 24 hour buses - they make my life a bit easier."

Become a more confident cyclist – One of the key things we offer to local residents is cycle training. This covers all levels, from beginner to advanced, to help cyclists feel more confident on the roads. So far we provided this free service to 28 cyclists who wouldn’t have known about the offer if it weren’t for our Travel Advisors.
